Time Management: High School vs. College

High school and college differ from one another in a number of ways. One example includes time management. In high school students follow the routine of the school and home; teachers and parents manage (guide) students' time. However, in college students wear their own conductor's hat and must manage their own time. Comparatively, little time is actually spent in class. Students must learn to study beyond class and manage their time in ways that allow for productive study habits.

How is this working for you? How would you grade yourself in your ability to balance your time? What time management regrets and successes do you have? What time management tokens of wisdom would you like to share with others?

  1. the freedom is nice. makes it easier to do things, because you arent quite as pressed into things. and once you get thru the normal classes, you take classes you actually want to take, so you're more into it and are more willing to study. i guess what i mean is like, it's kinda fun to study, because you are doing something you want to learn. i dunno. the only time management tip i can think of is dont skip to go do something fun. it's only a couple of hours, and a bit of studying. save the fun for the night time. because there's actual parties at night. you dont want to miss the real fun. haha.

  3. My time management is working well for me. If i could grade myself in time management i would give myself a B, because my time management isn't perfect and i have certain things to work on. I have no regrets on time management because i think everything happens for a reason and i have plenty of successes and more to come.My advice would be that if you go home and think you have nothing to do, then pull out some schoolwork because you always have something academical to do.

  4. I think College is way more laid back I could be odd man out on ts but it seems like the instructors have the attitude if you mess i ts your own fault where as in high school they shoved it down our throat the whole time. I feel more encouraged to go to college knowing I have the freedom once I get there to do w/e it seemed like even in high school the teachers treated us like crimnals .

  9. I think I do really good in balanceing my time. I make sure i get all my homework out of class and if I dont understand the homework or have many to few problems with it I still study. I study if I only have one problem that I dont get so when it come time to take the test I have no problems with the materal. I think it really deppends on are you mature enough to do what you suppose to do. I would share with others the fact is it doesn't effect any one but yourself.. Yeah your teacher is not going to know if you study but it would help you.

  10. It is alot hard then high school in some ways. But, I like college better. The time is very hard to manage, but when you put your mind to it and try it's not so bad.

The way you manage and spend your time is very important, so manage you time carfully, and make sure you enjoy all the time you have now because tomorrow isn't promised.
